Organise your life!
If you are finding that your life is a mess, that your time to work or to socialise or to relax is overlapped and you would like to change it, here is some of our advice. Hopefully by trying to follow these steps you will find a much more manageable and less overwhelming life schedule!
Step 1:
Start by breaking up the activities you need to do into separate, simpler tasks. Sometimes, writing these down helps and you can prioritise what needs to be completed first. From there either create a physical or mental list of the things you are either behind on or need to get done. If you wanted you could create separate lists categorised by work or school or social life. Hopefully, by dismantling all your built up activities and creating a list in order of importance, your mind will feel more organised and confident in what you need to do next.
Step 2:
Another step you can take in order to take more control in you life is to pay attention to the time in your life and how you are spending it. Spend a day doing your daily activities and recognise/take mental notes on how you use your time. Then review, should you really be spending hours procrasinating on something you can do any time when you have a deadline due? Try and be more aware of time as you are continuing in your daily routine, every so often check the time and ensure you are doing something that you should be. Don't waste the time you have!
Step 3:
Next step in organising your life is to actually live it. After making lists and you now know what you need to do and after arranging your time now is the moment where you follow through. If you are finding this hard, take a moment to step back and clear your mind. Try to stop thinking and worrying as this will cause your concerns to build up and eventually overwhelm you. If you need to or work better with, put on some background music as you complete some work or just to get you moving to where you need to be next.
Step 4:
One of our final steps we suggest taking is to also relax. Sometimes having too much to do and pushing through isn't healthy and by having your mind too stressed can affect your work. It is better to step back and take some time to relax and chill out either by yourself or with friends. Try and organise a dinner out or a meet up with friends to just talk and unwind. Hopefully when you return and feel as if you are destressed you can return to your mind with a fresh, renewed mindset and can work to the best of your ability.
